CONSTITUTION OF Little Fiets

NAME:-
The name of the organisation shall be Little Fiets (hereafter called 'the Organisation').

OBJECT:-
The Object of the Organisation shall be to stage events that exhibit use of Cycle Power, Clean energy and Dynamic Arts.

  • Promote the use of bicycles and cycle power through the demonstration of inspiring cycle-powered vehicles.
  • To explore new uses of cycle-popwer and clean energy.
  • To develop the potential for cycle power and clean energy in transport for disabled people.
  • To promote The Wheel Thing Festival and other events that celebrate the community life of the area through the involvement of local residents, traders, performers and artists.


Specific objects of the organisation shall be:-

  • *That the events will be open and accessible to all.
  • *To improve the quality of life and social cohesion within the community.
  • *To promote lifelong learning through the arts.
  • *To contribute to the local economy.

COMMITTEE:-

  • The committee may consist of the following:-
  • Chairperson To chair meetings and oversee the business of the Organisation.
  • Secretary To inform the membership of committee meetings and take minutes.
  • Treasurer To manage bank account and keep accounts and present yearly report.
  • Other members will be representatives of those who live and work in the area, who are committed to carrying out the stated objectives.
  • The committee shall be made of no fewer than 6 and no more than 12 people.
  • The committee shall be elected at the AGM. MEETINGS:-
  • The committee shall meet on a regular basis as business needs to be conducted.
  • One of these meetings shall be the AGM.
  • Decisions will be taken by a simple majority.
  • Minutes of the meeting will be recorded and held by the secretary for anyone to see.

POWERS:-

  1. Power to raise funds, and to invite and receive contributions.
  2. Power to employ artists, performers, facilitators and other workers to further the objects of the organisation.
  3. Power to hire venues and equipment necessary for the furtherance of the objectives.
  4. Power to reimburse members for expenses incurred on behalf of the Organisation.
  5. Power to use any profits raised from the activities of the Organisation for the enhancement of the Walcot Street area and for the benefit of those who live and work therein.
  6. Power to amend the constitution if this is deemed to be for the benefit of the Organisation as a whole, and two-thirds of the members present agree.
  7. Power to advertise the group's activities.

FINANCE:-

  • The bank account shall have 3 signatories, with 2 being required for each cheque.
  • The treasurer shall be responsible for cheque payments and monies paid into the bank, and shall keep an accurate record of these transactions.
  • No officerof the group will derive any personal financial benefit from its activities, other than the payment of reasonable expenses.

DISSOLUTION OF THE ORGANISATION:-

  1. The Organisation may be dissolved by a Special General Meeting called for that purpose at least 14 days in advance.
  2. A proposal to dissolve the Organisation shall only take effect if two-thirds of the members present agree.
  3. All funds shall be disposed of for the benefit of the local community, and shall not profit any member of the committee.
